Finally ended up at my favourite artist @araakaa’s solo exhibition at Avahteri Gallery yesterday.

The collection is powerful, intense, passionate, violent and at the same time provoking. I highly recommend a visit and if you are rich enough, buy a piece or the limited edition book. Although Araakaa has been around for a while, I think his journey as a fine artist is on an interesting new path. I feel with this new collection Araakaa is just setting up a new beginning as an artist who will play an important role in social/cultural narrative or commentary in the Maldivian Art scene.
